Marianne Rowden
President and CEO

Marianne Rowden is President and CEO of AAEI following years of service as the Association's General Counsel. Marianne came to AAEI after having practiced law with Katten Muchin Rosenman and concentrated in international trade and transportation regulatory compliance. Ms. Rowden has advised importers and exporters on a wide range of trade compliance issues relating to the entire global supply chain, from sourcing goods and trade security to customs entry and delivery of goods to customers.

Ms. Rowden has also represented many companies engaged in international trade before the principal U.S. federal agencies regulating trade, including Customs and Border Protection, Department of Commerce, Office of Foreign Assets Control, and International Trade Commissions. In addition to import matters, she has advised companies on export compliance issues such as licensing requirements of the Export Administration Regulations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, embargoes, and has conducted due diligence reviews of mergers and acquisitions involving foreign corporations.

Because of Ms. Rowden's extensive experience in transporation law, she has also advised many companies on joining the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) and conducted self-assessments of global supply chain security programs of multi-national corporations. She also advises shippers, carriers, and logistics providers concerning interstate and international transportation matters.

Ms. Rowden serves as an Adjunct Professor at The John Marshall School of Law and has lectured on customs, international trade and transportation topics for AAEI, the Council of Logistics Management, the Transportation Law Association, and the Transportation Law Institute.
