Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker delivered the keynote address to attendees of the 95th Annual AAEI Conference & Expo on June 6, 2016, in Arlington, VA, praising the work of AAEI members to expand trade in the US through trade facilitation and compliance. AAEI represents US companies engaged in global trade and works to advocate on behalf of its members before Congress, executive agencies, and multi-lateral organizations, including the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Sec. Pritzker underscored the importance of expanding opportunities for U.S. exporters and importers in order to support economic growth. The Secretary highlighted the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) as a significant opportunity to continue the progress the United States has made in growing the national economy through trade. During her remarks, Secretary Pritzker pointed out that if TPP implementation is delayed just one-year, the United States will see an estimated one-time national loss of $94 billion.

AAEI’s conference was held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott hotel in Arlington, June 5-8, 2016. The 96th Annual AAEI Conference & Expo will be held in Austin, Texas, June 18-20, 2017.
