AAEI Welcomes Keynote from CBP Commissioner

AAEI welcomed Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Kevin McAleenan in Baltimore, Maryland at the 97th Annual AAEI Conference and Expo in June 2018.
Commissioner McAleenen renewed his agency’s commitment to and partnership with the U.S. trade community.
Commissioner McAleenan was sworn in on March 20, 2018. Prior to his confirmation, Mr. McAleenan served as the Acting Commissioner since January 20, 2017. As the agency’s chief executive, Mr. McAleenan oversees 60,000 employees, manages a budget of over $13 billion, and ensures the effective operations of CBP’s mission to protect national security while promoting economic prosperity. Trade enforcement is one of the CBP’s three core missions which Mr. McAleen directs, along with counterterrorism and border security. Mr. McAleenan oversees the facilitation of $4 Trillion in trade and the travel of more than 365 million people through ports of entry. He is in charge of the largest law enforcement agency and the second-largest revenue collecting source in the federal government.
