- Public Hearing and Comments Due on China Shipbuilding 301: Covers proposed remedies, including docking fees on Chinese ships at U.S. ports and export carriage restrictions.
- Deadline for public comments on CBP NPRM that proposes to exclude certain low-value shipments, currently imported duty- and tax-free, from the de minimis exemption. Interested parties can submit their comments via the Federal eRulemaking Portal.
March 17, 2025
- Deadline for public comments on CBP’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) that creates a new “enhanced entry process” for the low-value shipments as an alternative to the “basic entry process,” Interested parties can submit their comments via the Federal eRulemaking Portal.
March 12, 2025
- 25% Global Steel and Aluminum Tariffs: Tariffs take effect with no country or product exclusions announced so far.
- Retaliation:
- EU: Announced retaliatory tariffs on $28.33 billion worth of U.S. goods starting April 1, 2025. The two-stage EU countermeasure includes tariffs on U.S. boats, motorbikes, workshop tools, household appliances, and more.
- Canada: Announced 25% retaliatory tariffs on more than $20 billion worth U.S. goods, set for implementation on March 13, 2025. These tariffs are in addition to the 25% retaliatory tariffs imposed by Ottawa on March 4, 2025.

- Lutnick: Tariffs on most Canadian and Mexican imports to be delayed until April 2.
March 4, 2025
- CBP Announcement: Federal Register notices released this week on Canada and Mexico tariffs to implement President Trump’s Executive Order 14193.
- Executive Order: President Trump signed an order imposing an additional 10% tariff on China.
