The American Association of Exporters and Importers (AAEI) releases the following statement urging Congress and the Administration to enact legislation to prevent a government shutdown.
“Trade is a critical component of the American economy. Inoperative supply chains impact American businesses productivity and growth. U.S. importers and exporters rely on the functions of government to provide stable supply chains for American manufacturing and consumers. The persistent threats of government shutdowns have economic and national security implications and risks, including potential disruptions in border management, export controls, and compliance with safety and quality standards.”
