End-to-end supply chain visibility is the key to navigating the rapidly evolving global landscape. Organizations need to track products and components from origin to end-user, mapping not just direct partners but their entire networks of owners and suppliers. By leveraging global data and responsible AI, businesses can gain actionable intelligence to identify risks, improve operational efficiency, and respond proactively to disruptions. This advanced level of visibility transforms supply chain management from reactive to resilient, strengthening compliance, enhancing supplier relationships, and driving overall business resilience.
This unprecedented level of visibility is demanded by upcoming regulatory changes and strategic business shifts. For example, the Bureau of Industry and Security’s (BIS) proposed 50% Rule will significantly expand export control responsibilities. This means that simply screening direct customers is no longer sufficient; companies must now understand the full ownership structures of foreign entities to prevent prohibited diversions of U.S. technology.
Similarly, importers face new risks as businesses strategically shift sourcing to mitigate tariff impact. The rise of “front” factories in countries like Mexico, owned and supplied by Chinese firms, means that relying solely on Tier-1 supplier information only shifts, rather than eliminates, tariff exposure and reputational risk. True preparedness requires understanding a product’s origin at a granular, multi-tier component level, often necessitating Bill of Landing data to assess the “substantial transformation” of a product.
