AAEI’s 102nd Annual Conference and Expo returns to Washington, DC, June 19-21, 2023, the first in the nation’s capital in four years. As the event approaches, AAEI is featuring many of this year’s conference speakers. The spotlight this week is on Brett Bruen of The Global Situation Room.

Brett will be a panelist for Diplomatic Update, a general session panel that will showcase the unique role diplomats have in international trade as they engage in foreign relations with the U.S. government. The panel will be moderated by AAEI President and CEO Eugene Laney.

As president of The Global Situation Room, Brett uses sophisticated communications strategies to influence the course of crisis and change. He helps clients survive and thrive in the face of today’s risks.

During the Obama Administration, Brett served as Director of Global Engagement where he built President Obama’s legacy international initiatives. Brett also served as a U.S. diplomat in Ivory Coast, Venezuela, Iraq, and Madagascar.

Brett currently also teaches crisis communications at Georgetown University and serves on boards at Harvard and University College Dublin.

His panel session is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.
