CBP Meets with AAEI Members on Top Challenges
December 4, 2024 – Officials from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) answered AAEI members’ questions this week at a special meeting of AAEI’s Customs Committee. The discussion included CBP’s efforts on the committee’s big trade issues, including agency staffing, customs modernization, and screening improvements on de minimis shipments.
The CBP speakers were Executive Director of the Office of Trade Relations Felicia Pullam, Director of CBP’s Trade Modernization Division Garrett Wright, and CBP Director of Field Operations Luke Hansen.

- President-elect Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met last week to discuss Trump’s threat of tariffs on products from Canada and Mexico. Trump reportedly spoke with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum about migration to the U.S. through Mexico.
