Chris Magnus was sworn in as Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in Washington by Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Alejandro Mayorkas.
The Senate confirmed Commissioner Magnus last week, making him the first confirmed CBP leader since 2019, when Kevin McAleenan became acting secretary of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) during the Trump Administration. President Biden nominated Commissioner Magnus for the position last April but the confirmation process was delayed.
