This week, the spotlight is on Matt McGrath of Barnes Richardson & Colburn, LLP.

As a member of AAEI’s Industry Leadership Council and a former member of AAEI’s Board of Governors, Matt leadership in the Association has deep roots. He has guided AAEI through changes in U.S. trade policy and AAEI policy for years and helped grow the Association’s membership rolls. But Matt’s work continues at the advocacy level. He is one of the current co-chairs of AAEI’s Healthcare Industries Committee (HIC), which is part of the newly renamed Border Interagency Committee (formerly the Regulated Industries Committee). HIC will be holding its first meeting of 2022 in two weeks, and Matt will help guide the discussion.

At Barnes Richardson, Matt is the managing partner of the firm’s Washington, DC office. He represents clients in trade disputes before federal agencies, U.S. courts, and multilateral panels, including antidumping and countervailing duty investigations, safeguard cases, Section 337 (unfair trade/intellectual property) investigations, and in USMCA proceedings. Matt also is a member of the U.S. Industry Trade Advisory Committee on Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals (ITAC-3).

Matt’s insights and knowledge of customs law make him one of AAEI’s most respected members. When Matt talks,
people listen!
