AAEI is spotlighting members who are helping lead the Association on key issues, initiatives and projects. This week, AAEI is featuring Ron Shepherd of UPS.
Ron is an active member of AAEI’s Customs Committee, which tackles issues at the heart of what Ron does at UPS. Steady progress with his career at UPS led Ron to take on the role of UPS’s Director of Customs and Trade Compliance in 2019. He steered the company through the demanding trade and compliance challenges of the pandemic and keeps a steady hand to find the course for the company’s future.
Ron will moderate a panel on the 21st Century Customs Framework (21CCF) and guide the discussion on the top issues involving customs modernization at AAEI’s Roadshow in Atlanta on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. The panel will include U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP’s) Petrina Evans, Caroline Dale of Flexport, and Laurie Arnold of NCBFAA. The discussion will be timely, as CBP continues to work with private sector trade leaders on inserting trade facilitation recommendations to the 21CCF update to CBP’s legal framework.
