August 28, 2024 – AAEI recognizes members who lead the Association on key issues, initiatives, and projects. This month, AAEI spotlights Heather Conner-Garofalo of Cardinal Health. 

Heather was recently elected to AAEI’s Board of Governors and brings more than 33 years of experience in trade compliance to the Association. 

At Cardinal Health, Heather is Senior Director, Global Trade Compliance Strategy & Productivity, where she leads strategic and long-term planning processes to drive global trade compliance excellence across the company. 

She has also worked in both retail and pharmaceutical sectors, including at Teva Pharmaceuticals, where she led risk-based Customs and Trade Compliance programs. 

Heather is a licensed Customs Broker and Certified Compliance Specialist. She holds a BA in International Business Management from Seton Hill College and interned in Export Development at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. 

As a member of AAEI’s Healthcare Industries Committee (HIC), Heather spearheaded a working group to propose updates to the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA’s) Pharmaceutical Appendix. HIC will be holding their third quarterly meeting in person at Merck’s Rahway, New Jersey campus on October 9th, in advance of the AAEI NYC Roadshow on October 10th. Prior to the committee meeting, AAEI will host a healthcare industries government forum with representatives from several government agencies including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
