
October 9, 2024 — AAEI recognizes members who lead the Association on key issues, initiatives, and projects. This week, AAEI spotlights Mark Hirzel of American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
As Co-Chair of AAEI’s Transpacific Committee, Mark is focused on addressing port congestion and reducing port-related charges impacting U.S companies. Mark has held numerous leadership roles in the Southern California trade community, serving as President of the Los Angeles Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association and the Foreign Trade Association. Mark also supports U.S Customs in the Trade Support Network and the Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee (COAC). He is also actively involved with the Automotive Industry Action Group and Autos Drive America.
Mark serves as the Export Manager overseeing Honda’s Export Compliance activities such as: Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT), United States Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA), Duty Drawback, and UFLPA compliance.
American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is the North American subsidiary of Honda Motor Co., Ltd, responsible for the distribution and sales of vehicles and power equipment in the United States. Headquartered in California, it was the first overseas subsidiary of Honda.
