AAEI is recognizing AAEI members— Trade Champions— whose careers in international trade have had significant impact on the development of trade policy and practice. This month, AAEI honors Kerry Novak of Emerson Electric Company.

Kerry is a member of the current 16th Term of the Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee (COAC), which advises U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on trade issues as they impact importers and exporters. Kerry is on COAC’s Intelligent Enforcement Subcommittee, which published an Executive Summary on its scope last June. Her subcommittee’s focus includes Forced Labor, Intellectual Property Rights, Antidumping and Countervailing Duties and Bonds.

At AAEI, Kerry is an active member of the Customs Committee and worked on AAEI’s talking points for CBP’s 21st Century Customs Framework (21CCF) project.

Kerry serves Emerson Electric as Director of Regulatory Compliance. Kerry’s career in international trade includes increasing roles of responsibility for cost accounting, sales, inventory control, purchasing and compliance. Her previous job titles included Director, Senior Manager of International Trade Compliance and International Trade Compliance Supervisor.

With gratitude for her leadership, AAEI is pleased to add another career achievement to Kerry as an AAEI Trade Champion.
