CBP Launches New Forced Labor Enforcement Dashboard
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) launched an online dashboard this week with more detailed information on the agency’s enforcement of the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA). CBP says the dashboard is an “interactive tool allowing users to select specific views for greater details of shipments stopped by CBP under UFLPA. The dashboard answers a call for greater transparency on UFLPA enforcement while protecting sensitive trade information.” CBP says that since UFLPA went into force, it has denied 424 shipments for UFPLA violations and has released more than a thousand. CBP Hosts Forced Labor Technical Expo
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) hosted a two-day event it calls the Forced Labor Technical Expo in Washington, DC. CBP says the event, which was also livestreamed, offered “a global platform for industry to share best practices on the latest technologies in supply chain transparency from around the world.” Last month, CBP published guidance for importers, including “Best Practices for Applicability Reviews: Importer Responsibilities. CBP to Host De Minimis 101 Webinar
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will host its first De Minimis 101 Webinar on April 5, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. EDT. The webinar is part of CBP’s expansion of the 321 Data Pilot, which is being extended until August 2025. Section 321 provides for an administrative exemption from duty and taxes for imports valued under $800. To register for the webinar, please click here.
